Biography: Recent Past

Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Ludhianwi

Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Ludhianwi suffered a most unfortunate death at the hands of assassins on May 18, 2000. On his way to the offices of the International Khatm-e-Nubuwwat, he was gunned down as he stopped to buy fruit from a vendor. His driver Maulana ‘Abdur-Rahman and one of his sons was also killed. It was found out that Maulana Yusuf had been put on a hitless for his constant work all over the world to combat deviant sects and their claims of false prophethood, especially those of the Qadiani’s. He was born in west Punjab and arrived in Karachi in 1978 to teach at Darul-Uloom, Newtown where he was a distinguished teacher of hadeeth. He was also editor of the Khatm-e-Nubuwwat magazine of worldwide circulation which is aimed at keeping the seal of the Prophethood sealed. He is survived by his widow, four sons and eight daughters.
